I call my campaign Citizens for Lower Costs because that’s what I think we all need—lower costs and a higher return for your work!

Lower Electric Rates

  • Connecticut has the 4th highest electric rates in the country. At the same time, the Eversource CEO makes 13 million a year. They continue to profit off of a basic necessity that we all need to survive. This is why our electric rates are so high.
  • Unlike the establishment politicians in both parties, I will actually take on Eversource by banning executive bonuses that are funded by your electric bill, and fighting to end the Eversource monopoly by moving towards public and municipal power. I will also fight to pass a temporary ban on the construction of new A.I. data centers, as their power consumption has been shown to increase electricity costs for households.

Lower (And Fairer) Taxes

  • Our tax system is broken. Middle and working-class families are forced to pay a huge amount of their income in taxes. At the same time, the very richest people in our state pay a comparatively small percentage of their enormous wealth. We have a system where a nurse or a firefighter is far more burdened by taxes than a CEO making millions of dollars a year. This isn’t fair. It’s a scam.
  • We need to help lower the burden of property taxes by increasing state support to small towns. This will allow towns to provide services without solely relying on local property taxes. We will pay for this support by ending the freeriding and making the richest people in our state finally pay their fair share.

Workers Rights

  • I am unabashedly and unapologetically pro-labor. If you work every day for a paycheck and have a boss, you are working-class. That is the vast majority of us.
  • The hard work you do is what makes our state one of the most prosperous in the country. And yet, most of the wealth that workers create gets stolen away by corporate elites and big business. They reap the rewards of your hard work, and only leave scraps for the rest of us. I believe workers should have control over the fruits of their labor. That’s why I will always fight for unions and support workplace democracy to boost wages and give workers a seat at the table. And if a company is continually mistreating its employees and racking up labor violations, then I think those employees should be given the chance to run that company themselves.
